About Me

My name is Joy. I’m 14 years old and having a dog breeding business is a dream I’ve been working toward for years now. I saved up to buy my dog Finley by selling lemonade, I worked out a business plan, secured a loan, got support and now Finley has had her first litter (and I hopefully will pay off my debts :-)

About My Family

I am the middle of five kids and I live at Treworgy Family Orchards. My family bought an American Labradoodle, Windsor, about eight years ago as a family dog. My sister is very allergic to dog hair, but since labradoodles are hypoallergenic we were able to have a dog. This was such a blessing and we love the labradoodle breed. This led to the buying of Finley, my breeding dog, about a year and a half ago. She quickly became a favorite in the family. Even my Dad who generally doesn’t like dogs (as is customary for Dads), but since the welcoming of Finley into our home he has changed his mind about dogs. We love this breed and hope you will enjoy them as your loyal companion just as much as we have.  My brother has type 1 diabetes and I one day hope to be able to train one of my dogs to be an alert dog to help him monitor high and low blood sugar.

About The Breed and Lineage

Sweet Apple Labradoodles line is a continuation of Jayme Chase’s, Log Cabin Labradoodle, line of authentic multi-generational Australian Labradoodles based in central Maine. This breed is purpose-bred, intelligent, and affectionate breed developed in Australia in the late 1980s. Originally created to be a hypoallergenic guide dog, the first cross combined a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle. As the breed progressed, careful introductions of other breeds such as the Irish Water Spaniel and English Cocker Spaniel helped refine their temperament, coat, and consistency.

Bred specifically for service and therapy work, Australian Labradoodles are known for their exceptional intelligence, gentle nature, and friendly temperament. They are quick to learn, eager to please, and form deep bonds with their humans—making them ideal for families, individuals with special needs, service work, and those seeking a loyal, trainable companion.
