Kat Jenkins
Kat’s familial connection to the farm is distant and complicated but cousin should suffice as a simplified explanation. She grew up just a mile from the farm and spent most of her childhood biking back and forth to the farm, playing in the fields with Annie and generally getting underfoot “helping” with the farm activities. As a teenager she took an interest in farming and decided to spend some time working on organic farms to learn more. After several years working as an agricultural manager on an Island farm she returned to help manage our farms growing projects.
Now on the farm she is the Agricultural Manager, Director of Floriculture and the Director of Groundskeeping. She enjoys solving problems and learning new skills one of which is a Degree in Digital Graphic Design.
Her favorite part of farming is the people, the opportunities that farming provides for building relationships and learning how to work together. She loves having the opportunity to work with, and coach people, as they learn to work together as a team. She of course also loves growing plants and all the other farm activities too, but the people are definitely the best part, “Seeing the relationships that are made from working hard together just make it all worth it.”
