Pumpkin Patch

Big orange beauties in the pumpkin patch

We grow more than 30 varieties of pumpkins, squash and gourds in every shape, size and color you can imagine, on more than five acres of pick-your-own fun!

And that’s not all. Getting to the patch is fun too. We’ll take you out and back in one of our hay wagons! Hayrides start at the picnic area and run throughout the fall from 3:00 to dusk on Fridays and all day on Saturdays and Sundays. And they’re FREE!

This little girl has stumbled upon our specialty pumpkins.

So come on over to Treworgy Family Orchards this fall and pick a pumpkin, pet a goat, and enjoy some delicious ice cream while you’re here!

Pumpkins are 50¢/pound, and even the biggest are never more than $12.

Pick-your-own winter squash for $1.00/pound

How to pick a pumpkin…

  • Choose your pumpkin…any variety, big or little, orange or green.
  • Break your pumpkin off near the vine, so you save the “handle.”
  • Hold and carry it from beneath so the handle doesn’t break.

Pumpkins can be picked in the field or purchased from the selection at the farm stand.

Then, carve a jack-o-lantern, toast the seeds, or cook your pumpkin for a delicious treat!

Did you know…

  • We grow our pumpkins in five miles of bio-degradable black plastic.
  • It takes about 10 family members and friends to plant 14,000 pumpkin seeds, and we usually do it in just two days!
  • An undamaged pumpkin with an intact handle can last for months inside.
  • Orange pumpkins will finish ripening even after they’re picked, so don’t worry if the pumpkin you really, really want still has some green on it.
  • The Cinderella pumpkin makes a great baking pumpkin.
